Sachin Tendulkar crossed Lara to become the highest run getter in Test cricket history and also became the first one to clock 12,000 Test runs. His good old mate Saurav Ganguly too achieved a landmark of reaching 7000 Test runs and became the 4th highest run getter in Tests for his country.

The bat dominated the ball for the major part of the day today and it had to be, it was a good batting track and the Indian batsmen batted well to peg back the opponents. But then, Australia fought back hard to dismiss the set batsmen and it was game on again. That is when the legendary pair stepped into the middle and rose to the ocassion, superb hundred plus partnership brought back India into the contest again.
